1. Is there an age requirement to be a vendor?
AGES 8-18. THE CHILD/TEENAGER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING UP THEIR SALES TABLE, MANAGING MONEY, AS WELL AS INTERACTING WITH CUSTOMERS ABOUT THEIR PRODUCT. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS EVENT IS TO ENCOURAGE THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AND INDEPENDENCE WITH AS LITTLE PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AS POSSIBLE.
2. Does the Kids Market keep any of the proceeds earned by our child?
NO, WE DO NOT PROFIT FROM YOUR CHILD’S SALES. WE WANT YOUR CHILD TO LEARN WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR. THERE WILL BE A SMALL REGISTRATION FEE REQUIRED FOR EACH TABLE. IT ALSO HELPS TEACH INITIAL INVESTMENTS ARE NEEDED WHEN STARTING A BUSINESS, AND THIS SHOULD BE FACTORED IN THEIR INVESTMENT COST. THIS FEE DOES NOT COVER THE FULL COST OF RUNNING THE EVENT AND WE ARE THANKFUL FOR OUR SPONSORS FOR HELP.
3. How can a kid participate?
STEP 1: APPLY AND PAY ONLINE. SPACE IS LIMITED SO ACT FAST.
STEP 2: WAIT FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE APPROVED
STEP 3: ONCE APPROVED…GET YOUR INVENTORY READY. WORK ON YOUR TABLE PRESENTATION. ALSO, PLEASE BE SURE TO FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND SPREAD THE WORD. WE WANT TO CREATE AS MUCH BUZZ AS POSSIBLE!
STEP 4: HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOUR DAY TO SHINE.
4. What are the hours and location of the event?
THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER 14th 11:30AM TO 2:30PM (RAIN DATE: OCTOBER 15TH, 3-6PM) AT WEST HARTFORD TOWN HALL PARKING LOT.
VENDORS CAN ARRIVE AN HOUR BEFORE THE START TO SET UP AND WILL HAVE 45 MINUTES AFTER THE EVENT TO SELL, EXCHANGE, OR BARTER THEIR FINAL INVENTORY WITH OTHER YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS. AT 3:15, YOU WILL NEED TO CLEAN UP AND DEPART BY 4:00.
PARKING WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE, FREE OF CHARGE, IN THE WEST HARTFORD TOWN HALL PARKING LOT.
5. What are the advantages of being a Vendor at the Kids Market?
YOUR CHILD WILL EXPERIENCE THE EXCITEMENT OF BEING ABLE TO SELL AND MARKET THEIR PRODUCT, SHARING IDEAS WITH THEIR PEERS, WHILE LEARNING VALUABLE BUSINESS SKILLS. THEY WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT BASIC BUSINESS PRACTICES SUCH AS: MARKETING, PRICING, SALES, AND BRANDING.
6. Can kids partner with other kids?
YES, WE WILL ACCEPT UP TO 2 PARTNERS PER BOOTH. ONLY ONE T-SHIRT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH EACH BOOTH’S REGISTRATION FEE. IF ADDITIONAL T-SHIRTS ARE DESIRED, THEY CAN BE PAID FOR ON THE APPLICATION PAGE OF THIS WEBSITE.
7. What types of tables are available?
EACH VENDOR WILL BE PROVIDED WITH 4 FEET OF TABLE SPACE (HALF OF AN 8 FOOT TABLE) TO SHOWCASE HIS/HER PRODUCT OR SERVICE. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN TABLE.
8. What is your refund policy?
50% REFUND 1 MONTH PRIOR TO EVENT. LESS THAN 1 MONTH, NO REFUND.
