“Damian was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when he was 5 years old and underwent over a year of intensive chemotherapy at CCMC. Between treatment visits and multiple extended hospital stays, CCMC has become our family’s safe place and home away from home. The amazing staff and caregivers have made coming to the Hematology/Oncology clinic a wonderful experience that Damian actually looks forward to! Now that he is in a more gentle chemo cycle and is feeling much better, he wants to give a little something back, so that other sick kids can make art while they are at the hospital.”
-Damian’s Mom
At the NextGen Innovators entrepreneur market on October 14th, join us in supporting Damian, a talented artist and brother of one of our vendors, Ivan. Damian, a patient at CCMC, aims to raise funds for the CCMC Hematology/Oncology Clinic by selling cards with his artwork . His creations have been featured in Make a Wish publications, showcasing his extraordinary talent. Let's come together as a community and back Damian's cause. Don't miss the chance to make a difference and own a piece of his art!
Anchors Camp
NextGen Innovators will be donating a portion of their donations to Anchors Camp!
Traci Carter, a former basketball player for the University of Hartford Hawks, was introduced by a friend to Laura and Elyse and they were inspired by his story. Traci grew up in the projects of Philadelphia and he saw firsthand how at-risk kids on the street can be steered down the wrong path to crime, drug abuse, or gang violence. Having had the opportunity to get an education, Traci wanted to give back by helping the youth in these trying situations. He started a nonprofit organization, Anchors camp, which connects promising, motivated, non-college bound inner city teens and, through donations, sends them to a 2 week 'camp' to learn various trades and gain confidence. This gives these individuals a direction in life, a future, and a purpose, which we believe will lead to a lifetime of success. For more information, click here: Anchors Camp
